As
a fellow Las Vegas native, I have been privileged with the
opportunity to work and get to know many business professionals
and future professionals alike. My experience ranges from
Casino Marketing to Hospitality to the Legal Industry. I have
learned the hardships of starting from the bottom and working
your way up to management. I plan to use my early experience
as an advantage to place myself in a senior position in management
right after graduation.
As Executive Vice President, I plan to expand the organization
to reach out to all departments at UNLV besides the College
of Business. I believe that having diversity in our members
will only make AMA stronger as a whole. I bring a variety
of real world experience and solid networks to UNLV AMA. I
hope to assist those members that are looking to expand their
networks and be a true leader for the organization.

Exec. Vice President

I
am currently a junior at UNLV and working towards a bachelor
degree in business marketing. I am also interning at one of
the largest periodical publishers in the nation called 944
Magazine. I have been able to include a lot of knowledge from
school and in return to gain experience for my future career.
When I first joined the AMA in 2009, I have learned so much
as a member. The previews board members motivated me to become
a successful and dependable team member. I have also attended
several AMA Las Vegas social mixers and gained professional
development and networking opportunities. Now, as AMA’s
Executive Vice President, I want to gain an understanding
in the total experience provided to members. To keep members
motivated and involved, I will maintain and design AMA’s
internal and external communication, as well as giving the
members and students in all majors to develop and obtain their
future career experience.

VP of Communications

After
discovering AMA through a story assignment for the Rebel Yell,
I was interested in the networking and community service involved.
I believed then and now that this organization can benefit
my connections and widen my network in the professional community.
After just a couple of months as an official member I had
already met important people in my field of study with the
help of the AMA. As a current undergraduate student majoring
in journalism with a focus on integrated marketing, I have
had the opportunity to intern for a website based in New York,
I am a staff writer for the Rebel Yell Student Newspaper,
and I am currently employed at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas.
Upon graduation I hope to work with public relations and marketing
in the entertainment or fashion industry. Becoming the Vice
President of Communications is a new challenge for me and
I hope to gain knowledge and helpful experience, and I know
I will do so with the support of the new board.

I
have lived in Las Vegas for 14 years and have seen the rapid
growth and change it has gone through. As VP of Programming
I hope to bring events and programs to UNLV that will not
only benefit the growth of AMA members, but the student body
as a whole. I am graduating in the fall with a BS in Marketing
and also work for an engineering firm that designs for local
and international agencies. I am able to experience first
hand how important it is to get involved with the community
and how the intensity of involvement affects employees' moral
and job security. The events and programs I will bring to
UNLV will educate and expand our knowledge on important issues
in our community
and we'll throw some in there just for
fun too!

I am currently working on completing a degree in Journalism
and Media Studies with a concentration in Integrated Marketing
Communications and a minor in Business Administration. While
in school I have completed two marketing/advertising internships
and gained two years of experience working as a marketing
and public relations assistant. In addition, I am currently
working at a local advertising agency. My ultimate career
goal is to open my own agency. As VP of Advertising and Promotions,
I hope to help increase awareness of the AMA on campus and
make students more aware of the resources that are available.

Although originally from Mexico, I have
lived in Las Vegas for over ten years. I will graduate from
UNLV in May 2010 with a major in marketing and a minor in
entrepreneurship. I'm also taking fashion design courses through
UNLV's Educational Outreach program.
Being part of the American Marketing Association has made
it possible for me to get involved in many ways. As VP of
Careers, I will assist members in obtaining real world experience
in the marketing field by keeping them informed of valuable
career opportunities throughout the semester.
